Welcome to October, one of my favorite months. I love to watch the changing of the leaves to their vibrant yellow, red and orange colors. And the taste of fresh apple juice, it makes my mouth water just thinking about it. It’s also fun to see all the interesting and fun Fall and Halloween decorations. These are things I love to share with my grandchildren. In this months newsletter you’ll find some great activities you can do the entire month. Included is a fun treat holder to make and give to friends. There’s a math activity that helps children with measurement, a reading/writing activity where children can use their imagination to write an Acrostic poem. There’s a family fun project that involves a friendly secret ghost leaving treats. I’m introducing a new product that is something that can become a keepsake - your grandchild’s name hand cross-stitched and framed. Find the details in the Products Section. Use any size can. Take off the lids on both ends with a can opener that doesn’t leave sharp edges. With a hammer, pound the bottom of one end so it comes together. Use a screwdriver to make the holes for the handle. Paint and decorate. For the handle use a pipe cleaner or wire.

Download Secret Halloween Ghost

A fun family activity for the month of October is The Secret Halloween Ghost. An adult begins the activity by leaving a treat or gift for another member of the family. They also leave the note with the secret ghost. You can download it free. The person who received the secret ghost then leaves it for another member of the family. It continues until each member of the family has received a treat or gift. You can do this activity with extended family or friends who live near by.
