My mother taught me to be kind, be honest, make my bed, and to make sugar cookies from scratch when my children beg for them.

My mother taught me to treat everyone with kindness, even if they aren’t kind to you. She also taught me to work hard at what I do. She also taught me to do my best, and my best is good enough. I really appreciate that she taught the importance of following the Prophet, and keeping the commandments, even when it’s hard.

My mom taught me to serve others. Her favorite thing was to make homemade bread and take to new neighbors, or those who were sick or lonely. She also taught me to laugh even when things are hard. She has a great sense of humor!

Besides teaching me that the kitchen cabinet doors need to stay shut, she has taught me the importance of families. She does a great job getting all of us together for holidays, birthdays, and just to have fun together.

My Mom was such a hard worker, she taught us all how to work. We lived on a farm and there’s always work to do. I have alot of good memories of my Mom, she was always busy, but always had time to be there for us. My mother never gossiped, she just didn’t say negative things about people. She was very tender hearted, and loving. I’m very appreciative and grateful for all my Mother did for me.

My mother taught me by example that you must always make your bed and there should never be any dirty dishes out. Now, that is what she taught me, but that unfortunately is not what I do…well, maybe the bed, but the dishes….not so good. My mother taught me to be happy and is one of the happiest people I know. No matter the circumstance, you should choose to be happy. I love her for that.

My mom taught me to cook…thank you MOM!! I have used that very well. She also taught me to share my talents, and to quilt, sewing, and making things out of little things.
