Wouldn’t these be great for an Easter brunch. I’ve made them before and not only are they delicious but they’re easy. You can make them ahead of time so you’re not so rushed right before your brunch.
Orange Knots
12 Rhodes Dinner Rolls, thawed but cold
1 medium orange rind, grated
½ cup sugar
¼ cup butter, melted
Citrus Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tablespoon butter melted 3 tablespoons orange juice
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Mix grated orange rind with sugar. Roll each roll into a 9-inch rope. Tie in a loose knot. Roll each knot in melted butter and then in rind/sugar mixture. Place on a large sprayed baking sheet. Cover with sprayed plastic wrap and let double in size. Remove wrap. Bake at 350° F 15-20 minutes. Remove from pan and place on cooling rack. Brush with citrus glaze while still warm.
These do look delicious. I used to make hot rolls from scratch, and one of the shapes I used was the knot. My daughters were talking about those rolls the other day. Maybe I’ll try them again, or maybe I’ll just thaw out some Rhodes rolls. They are good!
I used to do rolls from scratch, 35 years ago for about 1 month, but Rhodes are so much easier and almost as good.
Oh my! These sound absolutely divine! I’m going to try them out this week-end. Thanks for sharing them.
