Grandma’s Tea Party

I’m featuring my friend Martha today. She had a fun “Tea Party” with her 2 granddaughters. She did it for Valentine’s Day but you could do it anytime during the year.
Thanks Martha for sharing your great ideas.

I hadn’t seen my two granddaughters for over a month, so I decided to “make an appointment” with my son to have him drop them off on the Saturday before Valentine’s Day for a Valentine Tea Party with Grandma. I recruited my youngest daughter to come and help “entertain” my 20 month old granddaughter, when she lost interest in making cookies, which was about 10 minutes! My older granddaughter stuck to it, however, and did a great job of decorating all her cookies. While they were in the oven, we made heart crowns and colored Valentine pictures for Mom and Dad. For lunch, we used our cookie cutters, and made heart shaped sandwiches.
We had a great time, and I got some cute pictures of “grandma’s darlings” to put in my scrapbook. Every time I see them, they put a smile on my face as I remember our fun Valentine Tea Party. I think I’ll make it a tradition!

I love doing tea parties too. Great idea to make it a Valentine’s tradition. The crowns are adorable! Lucky little girls.
