We love churros at our house. Costco has been carrying them recently. They just have to be popped in the oven and they even include the sugar mixture. They are extra yummy to eat hot right out of the oven.
It would be a lot of fun to make them at home. Have you tried making them this way. I wouldn’t think they would have the same crispy texture. Let me know if you give them a try.
I have not tried the churros with the Rhodes dough but I have made scones. I don’t know if it makes a difference if you fry the churros longer. It sounds like the ones from Costco are easy and delicious so I would stick with them.
