This is a fun math activity to do with all the candy after trick-or-treating. All you need is the graphing sheet and candy.

Directions:

  1. Print bar graph sheet.
  2. Sort and classify the candy (ex: suckers, gum, bars, etc.).
  3. Label the X axis (across the bottom) of the sheet with your categories.
  4. Label the Y axis (along the side) with numbers.
  5. Color a square for each candy in the category. If you have 5 suckers you color in 5 squares.

When finished, talk about the graph. Ask questions like; which category has the greatest or least? Are there any the same? How many more does one category have than another? What is another way to classify the candy?
