Hi, I’m Grandma Lizzie and welcome to my house.

I love spending time with my grandchildren. We go on excursions to the zoo, have picnics at the park and enjoy dinosaur museums. Often we gather around my kitchen table to play fun learning games or we get out the scissors and crayons to create crafts. Sometimes we throw blankets and pillows on the floor and read a great book. I’m a teacher by profession and I enjoy working with children of all ages. Over the years I have taught children from preschool to 6th grade. I have collected lots of ideas that I want to share. It’s great when learning and creativity can be combined. I hope you enjoy my website.

Grandma & Grandpa’s Dress-up Box

Create a box full of fun things for your grandchildren to dress-up in when they come to visit. Fill it with old clothes, hats, shoes, and jewelry. I like to look for interesting things at thrift shops or yard sales. It’s easy to find some hilarious things that your grandchildren will love that are inexpensive. Children love to create funny outfits. Encourage your grandchildren to write a short play to act out or read a story and let them act it out. Be sure to take pictures to preserve the memories. I like to keep my dress-up items in a plastic box that I can slide under the couch, it’s easily accessible and also easy to put away.
